About Our 2010 Myrtle Beach Surf Camps
The Quiksilver / Roxy surf camps, presented by Myrtle Beach Surf Camps are the premiere surf camps for young surfers of all abilities ages 8 and up. Our goal is to provide a safe and fun atmosphere where your child will be introduced to various activities with plenty of positive reinforcement. Each camper will learn about OCEAN SAFETY, SURF ETIQUETTE, RESPECT FOR THE OCEAN, and the SKILLS that will enable them to achieve their desired level of surfing.Mark Allison and his staff at the Myrtle Beach Surf Camp have been teaching surfing and ocean safety for over 20 years. Come join us for some fun in the sun. All of our instructors are American Red Cross Lifeguard certified and CPR certified.
A day at our camp begins with lessons in ocean knowledge and safety. We will then warm up with some early morning stretches followed by education and practice of surfing techniques. Then it's time to hit the water for the wonderful experience of surfing. Each camp will have a visit from a member of the Surfrider Foundation and they will explain this organization's leading role in helping to preserve the ocean environment. One of our senior instructors will explain about riptides, currents, and safety. Our goal is to have every student emerge confident and knowledgeable about the ocean and surfing.
The Founder of Myrtle Beach Surf Camps
The Myrtle Beach Surf Camps are directed by Mark Allison. Mark is a 40 year + surfer / waterman. His passion for the sport started as a youngster surfing and fishing up and down the Southern California coast during the late 60's and 70's. His love for the sport and travel have taken him globally in the search of perfect surf and the spirit of Aloha.
Mark and his well-trained staff at Myrtle Beach Surf Camps has been showing people how to surf for over 20 years. Our goal is to give each camper an experience that will last a lifetime and quite possibly change their life. All instructors are American Red Cross Lifeguard Certified and trained in CPR.
In addition to water instruction, we provide extensive on-shore instruction during the time the students are out of the water. This includes the instruction of safety practices while in the water, how waves are created and how to anticipate the different kinds of breaking waves. Our goal is to have every student emerge confident and knowledgeable about the ocean and surfing. Our time during each camp will be spent building friendships and camaraderie through surfing together in a non-competitive environment.
The 2010 Surf Camps kick off soon. Myrtle Beach Surf Camp will be held weekly beginning the week of June 7 and run through the week of August 23.
